Awarded “Grand Prize” in the 8th JAPAN Construction International Award (JCIA) hosted by MLIT
We are pleased to announce that the “Project for the Improvement of Honiara International Airport” in the Solomon Islands, in which Gyros Corporation served as a consultant, has been awarded the Grand Prize in the Construction Project Category at the 8th JAPAN Construction International Award (JCIA) hosted by the Ministry of Land,Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan in September 2025.
This project, implemented through Japan’s Grant Aid scheme, addressed the urgent need for modernizing deteriorated facilities and mitigating flood risks at Honiara International Airport. The scope included the construction of a new international passenger terminal, rehabilitation of aprons and taxiways, and enhancement of drainage and flood protection infrastructure.
Together with Oriental Consultants Global and Ehira Architects & Engineers Inc., Gyros was responsible for the design and construction supervision. Our team delivered infrastructure solutions tailored to local climatic conditions, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and maintainability.

Gyros Corporation is pleased to announce that its Joint Venture with Pacific Consultants Co., Ltd. has been formally awarded the consultancy contract for the “Regional Airport Asset Management Support (RAAMS)” project by the Ministry of Infrastructure (MOI) of the Kingdom of Tonga.
This project, funded under the World Bank’s “Tonga Climate Resilient Transport Project,” aims to establish a sustainable and climate-resilient framework for the management and operation of Tonga’s major airports. Leveraging its extensive expertise in airport planning and operational management, Gyros will work closely with Pacific Consultants to contribute to the development of a long-term airport asset management system in Tonga.

FS project for the Expansion of the Passenger Terminal Building at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal
Gyros Corporation (Head Office: Fuchu City, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takao Yamaguchi) is pleased to announce that, on August 1, 2025, its FS (Feasibility Study) project for the expansion of the passenger terminal building at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal has been selected for the FY2024 Supplementary Global South Future-Oriented Co-Creation Project Subsidy (Small-Scale Demonstration/FS Projects) by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan.
This selected project aims to conduct a feasibility study for the planned expansion of the passenger terminal building at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal to meet future increases in air traffic demand. The goal is to establish an export model for airport infrastructure utilizing Japan's design, construction, and operation technologies, while also building a public-private collaboration framework with local stakeholders. Through this initiative, the project seeks to promote the overseas expansion of Japanese companies and contribute to international development.
